This semester

In this post I wanna talk about my academic semester. I have four subjects this semester, the first one that i like the most is Radial Production. I like this subject cause it allow me to work with the most important thing in my life: music. Doing production I can use any song as sound base or separator, also work with effects and everything I need to make a radio program work.

The second subject is Audiovisual Realization, in this we learn how to work with audiovisual material, to do videos, to edit sound and to make full story based on the dramaturgy. It is designed from a television perspective.

The others two subjects are Cultural Studies and Research Process. The first one combines a variety of politically engaged critical approaches drawn from and including semiotics, Marxism, feminist theory, critical race theory. And the second one is about the whole process to make a comunication investigation, since the methodological design until the hypothesis approach.

I just feel motivated by the radio and tv signatures but i'm sure i will learn a lot of interesting things in the other ones.

My name is Matías. I'm 21 years old but I feel even younger. Aries. I came from Curicó, but right now I'm living and studing in Santiago. What do I study? Journalism, meh. I like it even when I know that I really would like to be learning other things too. It's a dinamic career that would allow me to work in the differents things that I like: photography, writing and audiovisual.

I also would define me as a music lover. Since i was a little boy i felt connected with the rythms, melodies and lyrics. So, i've been growing with it and also my feelings about it. I've been throug everything: reggaeton, pop, edm, house, rock, r&b, jazz, blues, soul and bossa nova.

I like to play the guitar, its somehow liberating. Right now I'm learning the piano, the musical composition's process and the production. I would like to improve my experience with the music to another level. From a outsider of the music industry as a consumer to a creator that be able to produce all those ideas that has been playing in my head for years.

and yes, i'm not looking for something more than happinness. Hope you're doing it too.
